DAMIEN BEEBE, ACS
The brother of Oscar-winning cinematographer Dion Beebe, Damien is an expressive DOP in his own right with a genuine passion for film. Being completely immersed in the film industry from a young age, his extensive knowledge of the craft led him to earning significant credits including Mary Poppins Returns, Edge of Tomorrow, 13 Hours, and Into the Woods. Other recent DOP credits include Black Water: Abyss and Aiyai: Wrathful Soul. Proficient in a wide range of styles and genres, Beebe is highly regarded both as a visual storyteller and for his technical brilliance behind the camera.
This film lends itself to a strong cinematic widescreen design, combining the vastly isolated essence of the outback with the disarming, vulnerable close up style of a psychological thriller. The mood and tone of the film is suspenseful and unnerving- low key lighting with a blend of rich and muted tones will convey the all-encompassing emotional range for the characters, including the urgency of survival mode.
The cinematography will be heightened through the use of Canon 5D cameras in the four-wheel drive, Ghan, & helicopter sequences. A multi-cam system will allow us to shoot from various angles to create a masterful slow-motion sequence for the four-wheel drive crash scene. Remote controlled helicopters and state-of-the art drones will provide great use of dynamic aerial movement for an exciting visual imprint on the film.
